DAY 1 - The KT1 course introduces practitioners to the Kinesio Taping Method®. During this 8 hour class, the instructor will discuss the fundamental concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method® and the unique properties of Kinesio Tex® Tape. Attendees will first experiment the application of Kinesio® Tex Tape on themselves. This is followed by a demonstration of the basics of equine functional assessment and practical labs where attendees will have time to practice muscle applications of Kinesio Tex Tape on the horses. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to discuss and apply the Kinesio Taping Method® to relax overused muscles, stimulate weak muscles, and decrease pain and swelling.
DAY 2 - The KT2 course introduces practitioners to advanced applications using the Kinesio Taping Method®. The KT2 course builds on material covered in KT1. During this 8 hour class, the instructor will introduce the five Corrective Techniques (Functional, Space, Fascia, Ligament/Tendon, and Lymphatic) and discuss their application in a variety of clinical conditions.
KT Equine 1: Introduction to the Kinesio Taping® Method (KTM) for Horses, Basic Kinesio Taping Concepts & Kinesio Taping Muscle Applications, 8hrs (To be taken in conjunction with KT2)
- Designed to introduce equine practitioners to the KTM for horses.
- Learn KTM fundamental concepts and the unique properties & uses of Kinesio Tex Tape.
- Lab sessions provide opportunities to practice muscle applications for various areas of the body.
- Upon completion, attendees will be able to discuss and apply the Kinesio Taping Method to relax overuse syndromes, stimulate weak muscles, and decrease pain and swelling.
KT Equine 2: Advanced Concepts & Corrective Techniques, 8hrs
(Pre-requisite, completion of KTA approved KT1 course)
- The Equine KT2 course builds on material learned in KT1.
- Learn the five Corrective Techniques and discuss their application in a variety of clinical conditions.
- Includes Kinesio Taping Equine KT1 & KT2 Workbook with a 60-day trial membership to the Kinesio Taping Association International which includes access to a database reference.
